Sean Davies - Promotions Committee Member
Sean moved to Alberta from Ontario in 1981 where he commenced work at the Foothills Medical Centre as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). After 10 years as a LPN, he transferred to Occupational Therapy as a Therapy Assistant for the then Burns /Plastic Team. He currently remains in that position on what is now known as the Burns/Plastic/Ortho/Wound Team.
Sean is an active member and Southern Alberta Representative of the Therapy Assistant Association, since its inception in 2004. He is proud to say that he has participated in all but one AGM and Education day and that was due to family commitment.
Sean completed the 2005 Therapy Assistant Regional Project (TARP) through SAIT. This was an upgrading program designed to unify all assistant positions in the then Calgary Health Region and consisted of 72hours classroom time and 20 hours practicum.
Dominique Sigouin - Chair
Dominique views her position with the committee as an opportunity to help spread the word about the Association. She currently works for the Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team as an OTA, PTA, and SLPA. She graduated from the Grant MacEwan Therapist Assistant program, in April of 2009 and the Stroke team is her first job since graduation. Dominique also loves to sing, walk her dog and spend time with family. Besides her career as a TA, she also has a small makeup business on the side.
