EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS

Joelle Withers - President

Joelle graduated from the Grant MacEwan College Therapist Assistant program as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in 2000. She has spent her career working in long term care, acute care, community and now works for ESHIP (Edmonton Student Health Initiative Partnership).

Tracy Cameron - Vice President

Tracy graduated from the Grant MacEwan College Therapist Assistant program in 2002. Tracy worked as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in Edmonton in long term care for 6 years and is currently on maternity leave from her position as a Rehabilitation Assistant in Community Rehabilitation with Alberta Health Services.

Sheryl Wilde - Registrar

Sheryl graduated from Grant MacEwan College with a diploma in Physical and Occupational Therapy Assisting. She is now on maternity leave from her position in family medicine at the University of Alberta Hospital. She currently resides in Edmonton with her husband and new son.

Carmen Luross - Treasurer

Carmen graduated from the Grant MacEwan College Therapist Assistant program as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2003. She spent several years in a rotating position at an urban hospital gaining experience in acute medicine, orthopedics, and outpatients. Currently she enjoys working for Alberta Health Services in the Central Zone as a pediatric Rehabilitation Assistant in Community Health Services.

Dianne Foley - Secretary

After Dianne had earned her Teacher Assistant certificate, she began her career as an assistant in the schools. She went on to study Early Childhood Development at Red Deer College and in 1998, successfully acquired a position as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant. Currently, she works in the David Thompson Health Region.

Howard Riddel - Public Member

Howard graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Education, and has studied Communications at Simon Fraser University in a post graduate program. Howard is currently the Executive Director of the College of Alberta Dental Assistants. Howard has been involved in government and non-profit organizations for most of his career.

Jessica Harrison- Councilor

Jessica graduated from the Grant MacEwan Speech Pathology Assistant program in 2008. Jessica has worked in various positions with children 0-12 years for the past 6 years. She currently works for Alberta Health Services in the Central Zone as a pediatric Speech Language Pathology Assistant.
Jamie Bessex

Jamie is currently attending Grant MacEwan College and is enrolled in the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Program. Jamie will be graduating in April of 2008 and hopes to work with young children in a school environment or within the Health Care system.
